A Bow A Day Keeps the Glow Stay
I am a girl who grew up comfortable with bright colors. I attribute this to two women, Mamang and Ati Nel. I saw them since my childhood years wear clothes, purses and shoes of varied hues effortlessly. I remember Ati Nel placing hairclips that formed a headband on my mane when we go to church.Mamang was never into earth tones.
One day in June, I noticed my tiny ribbons gingerly laid on my dresser and I picked one and clipped it on my hair. The gloomy me instantly became happy, so were my patients who noticed the bright bow (then I learned, bow is the more popular and apt term here, in PH, we just say ribbon,LOL).
Almost every day now, I wear one as I have a collection of rainbow colors and more. Bows help me to be in a cheery mood lately. As I say, I have the ability to laugh at myself. Life is complicated already, I want to be a bit crazy to keep my sanity.
To express. Not to impress.
