Big Bear is a BIG name that pops out on winter season in California.Three years of living in SoCal, finally on January 04, our small group of four traveled up to the mountains. Koyang Miller (John/Boo), Ate Reggie (At), and Justin (Jak/Pika/Chewy) and I spent 3 days and two nights in a place that I only realized during the trip was actually a city of San Bernardino County- the same county of my workplace. Later I will scribble why this quite amazed me.

| That despite the haze and daze, rays of shine will appear. |
 |
| Two of the most-cherished people in my life. |
 |
| I am now ok riding on the roads of my journey. |
 |
| My heart sees the beauty in every little blessing. |
 |
| Pika is a teener now who will always be the Golden Boy of the fam. |
I had few but so memorable "firsts" on this weekend trip. I have always been curious with the caramel apples displayed in stores but have shied away, scared of the sugar and calories they have. The local associate of BigBear Vacations who took care of our cabin check-in details however mentioned popular and "not to be missed" places and North Pole Fudge was one of them. Told myself it's a special weekend, forget the wish of a less--bulging tummy so we went and I chose the dark chocolate English toffee caramel apple and OMG!!!! It's a bite of heaven!!!
We strolled at The Village, an attraction itself with its quaint , small and local shops and restaurants. There was even a theatre. Snow was on the pavements and I was already beginning to be giddy. Truth of the matter is if I may recall, the first time I saw snow was in Shanghai for my flight to PH via China Eastern. Didn't felt nor touch it.:) The second time was in Vancouver, this time, I literally touched the snow.:)
Yayyyy!!! Here I am with the snow in my home of California. This is what amazed me, just a 2-hour ride away from our residence and we are at a Hallmark setting. I seldom watch television, when I do, I switch to Hallmark channel with their romantic and feel-good movies especially the Christmas- themed ones. I love how the actors dressed up in coats, scarves and boots while walking with yuletide ornaments displayed everywhere.

| How sweet and practical to have fireplaces around. |
This wooden board seemed like a "sign" that our Big Bear vacation will be a fruitful, happy and chill one like how I prayed for it. Every line is timely apt for my current being.
I love you At and Pika. Thank you for making me feel I am a part of your family.

| We had our first lunch here. Thumbs up! |
On our first night, we tried the Snowplay activity- snowtubing. It was fun but extremely chilly!!! I thought I was fully geared but no amount of turtleneck top, earmuffs and winter coat can make me warm enough. After two rounds of slide, we had to go as my lips feel numb already.

| Hallmark Christmas village |

| Good Mexican dinner here. |

| The Village at night. |
Another first for me- I tried and tasted Pozole as I have been curious about it too( my food curiosity is limitless). It was like menudo of the Mexicans. I enjoyed it, perfect for cold weather.
This trip is actually to celebrate the 20th wedding anniversary of my Koyang Miller and Ate Reggie. If given the chance and blessing, they are my peg couple. They are lovers and best friends to a T!!
Good night from us. Until tomorrow!! Let's see what Big Bear has in store for us.
